Greater Lynn International Slide SalonThe Greater Lynn International Slide Salon is a world-wide slide competition with 33 awards given. It is the largest and best known single Division Color Slide Exhibition. Although the Salon is an individual competition, there is a Club Medal Award. The club entry can consist of any number of people, but the score is based on the club’s seven or eight top scoring entries. We want to bring this medal home to the Manchester Camera Club! In order to do this, all entries must arrive together in the same packet. Each entrant can submit up to 4 slides. Karen Hudnall will be collecting the slides in early to mid February.
For the digital photographers: you can have slides made from your digital files at Slides.com. It’s fast, efficient, and reasonably priced. Bob Legg has been using them for a long time, and is very satisfied.
This year’s results…
Our club placed 11th out of 17 clubs that entered.
Nine of our members had one or more slides accepted into the Salon: Faith Clark, Frank Devlin, Bill Gehan, Lew Joslyn, Karen Hudnall, Bob Legg, Kent Messamore, Tom Murray, and Deb Turri.
There were no honors or medals earned this year.
It is highly recommended to view the slide show of all the accepted images. It will be shown at the Yankee Seminar in Danvers in April, 2005. If you do not wish to go for the day, you can attend the slide show for $5.00. It will also be shown at the Greater Lynn Camera Club on April 5th for $6.00.
